R. Dean Johnson is the author of a story collection, Delicate Men (Alternative Book Press) and a novel, Californium (Plume-Penguin). His essays and stories have appeared in Ascent, Cimarron Review, Hawai'i Pacific Review, Natural Bridge, New Orleans Review, Slice, The Southern Review, and elsewhere. He lives in Kentucky with his family and directs Eastern Kentucky University's low-res MFA in Creative Writing program, Bluegrass Writers Studio.
