This course is designed for writers (at all levels) who want to develop new work and to explore the forms of memoir vignettes and personal essays for the purpose of storytelling through print. We will examine the structure of effective memoirs and essays in the short form (under 1,000 words), generate drafts based on a variety of writing prompts, and hone those drafts based on class feedback and personal reflection.
