Memoirist Terese Marie Mailhot says if you are writing about trauma, you should carry five other stories with you as protection. Writing about joy is crucial to keep your writing heart alive.
In this course, we are going to develop our own personal imageries of joy. We will explore how tweaking mood and tone changes imagery, and vice versa. And we will use these images to brainstorm first drafts of prose and poetic pieces to carry with us, either as unique, standalone works or as scaffolding for longer projects.
This class is welcome to writers of all experience levels. Come, whether you are trying something new or taking a break from a troublesome project.
