The focus of this craft session is to help writers who may be new to playwriting or in the beginning stages of writing a play learn how to develop and structure an effective scene. This might be the first scene of a play that will draw audiences into the story, or it might be a scene that appears later in the play to advance the action or character development in a way that drives the story forward. Students will have an opportunity to draft a scene so that they can launch a new script or move one step closer to completing an existing draft of a play.
