In this hands-on session, Zoë Bossiere, author of Cactus Country: A Boyhood Memoir, will share practical tips on how to turn yourself into a character and write your life into an engaging personal story through compelling scenes and grounded exposition. During the session, writers will have the opportunity to read from a variety of short memoirs, participate in guided group discussions, and begin to write their own true story through a series of generative prompts.
NOTE: In keeping with our mission, to ensure diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility, the registration fee for this class is "Pay What You Can." We believe every writer, reader, storyteller, and literary enthusiast who wants to attend a Literary Cleveland event should be able to have that experience. "Pay What You Can" registration allows comfortable, affordable participation for everyone. We have suggested fees—you can pay one of them, or pay what you can. Your participation is the priority for us.
