Workshop

Reading & Writing Flash Fiction

With:
Alida Dean

What are the differences between flash fiction and short fiction? What about between flash fiction and vignettes? How does flash fiction work?

In this class, we will attempt to answer these and other flash-fiction related questions by reading and discussing great flash fiction, then, by way of weekly writing prompts, writing our own.

By the end of the class, students will be able to understand and analyze a wider variety of flash fiction, offer constructive, specific feedback, and draft, workshop, and revise several pieces of original flash.
