Workshop

22 Ways to Improve Your Story

With:
Matt Weinkam

Finishing a first draft of a story or novel is no small feat, but how do you turn that writing into a final draft that is ready for publication? This three-session workshop will take you through the revision process by teaching you how to improve everything from overall plot and character to individual sentences and word choice. Together we’ll learn advanced revision techniques, participate in editing and rewriting exercises, and share our struggles and triumphs along the way. Everyone who attends will walk away with 22 practical tips for revision to apply to their story, regardless of any length, genre, or style. To get the most out of this workshop it is highly recommended (though not required) that you have a finished draft of writing to work with.

22 Ways to Improve Your Story takes place Wednesdays 7/3, 7/10, & 7/17 from 6:30-8:30pm at the Lakewood United Methodist Church (15700 Detroit Ave, Lakewood, OH 44107).
