Sam Oguntoyinbo

Sam Oguntoyinbo (he/him) is a Nigerian-American writer and spoken word poet from Solon, Ohio. He recently graduated with a B.A. in English from Yale University, where he was named a 2025 Yale College Poet and had his poems archived in the Beinecke Rare Book & Manuscript Library.

Sam is a big fan of hip hop, citing it as the main inspiration for his current rhythmic, rhyme-dense writing style. His writing is largely introspective, exploring themes of mental health and its manifestations: memory, trauma, solitude, heartbreak, grief, and dreams.
