Veterans' Voices

Northeast Ohio veterans: Have a story to tell? Enjoy writing poetry? Working on a novel or memoir? Join Veterans' Voices, Literary Cleveland's FREE creative writing classes for veterans to generate new writing, complete in-class exercises, receive feedback on your work, get inspired by great readings, and bond with fellow group members. This project, led by poet and veteran Mansa L. Bey, will culminate each year in the publication of an anthology of writing that will be shared with the public. Have fun with writing. Discover your voice. Tell your story. Join Veterans' Voices. All genres and experience levels are welcome.

Veterans' Voices 2nd Annual Anthology - August 2024

This August, Veterans' Voices will publish its second annual anthology of writing from our workshop participants, veteran members, and community writers that are also veterans. If you are a veteran and a writer, affiliated with Literary Cleveland as a board member, instructor, member, or participant in any of our community programming, we invite you to submit your work for publication in the anthology. We are accepting work in all genres--poetry, fiction, and nonfiction--up to roughly 1000 words. You can submit more than once. The writing does not have to be about combat or your time serving in the military. The deadline for submission is Friday, June 28, 2024.
