This year, Literary Cleveland will host the free Poetry Corner for Larchmere PorchFest 2025 on Saturday, June 28 from 2-3pm at our offices (13002 Larchmere Blvd).

Come and enjoy featured poets BARRiOBOY (J.P. Hernandez), Demetria "Substance" McCulloh, Mixxed Rose of The Sparrow's Fortune, and Jerrod Amir Shakir, hosted by Vince Robinson of Larchmere Arts. No registration required.

PorchFest is a family-friendly event open to the community featuring musicians from a wide variety of genres.

•BARRiOBOY• (Jean Paul "JP" Hernandez) is a Cleveland-based artist, educator, and community leader who transforms urban spaces through the fusion of art, agriculture, and activism.

Demetria "Substance" McCulloh

Anywhere between performing poetry, recording music, acting, and handing out homestyle hugs, Substance is determined to leave an impact wherever she may land. Abiding by her life’s mantra, “just here to get better,” Substance is dedicated to artistic mastery, self-development. and spreading love.

Mixxed Rose

Mixxed Rose is a multidisciplinary artist who blends visuals, sound, and story to explore culture, growth, social issues, and humanity. Her work is rooted in honesty, imagination, and connection.

Jerrod Amir Shakir

Jerrod Amir Shakir is a poet, storyteller, and community organizer born and raised in Cleveland’s Buckeye-Shaker neighborhood. Rooted in Black oral traditions, his work fuses personal narrative and raw vulnerability, exploring themes of self-reflection, identity, and societal perception — transmuted through emotional upheaval and radical expression.
