From the Anthology
Sustaining Service: 2025 Veterans' AnthologyPush a pin a little harder,
Now twist and turn the head.
Pull a pin as a starter
And mark where you feel red.
Pain is felt in many ways
From toes to teeth and more.
The pain we put upon ourselves,
We acknowledge then ignore.
So, push that pin then pull it out,
My masochistic friend,
For pain is merely but a choice
Of push and pull again.
If you like the push that pulls,
Take head of this advice:
The pin you push upon yourself
Will always be a vice.
