Longer Short Story Workshop

In this workshop, we will focus on writing and revising a single longer short story—somewhere between 8-12,000 words. We will share two drafts of the same story, each time looking for possibilities and opportunities for expansion. We will pay particular attention to narrative pacing, density, departures and detours. We will also consider and engage in radical revision techniques. In addition to reading each other's stories, we will close read a handful of longer short stories.
