Does the thought of telling a story in front of a live audience appeal to you? Is there a story germinating in your soul that you want to share with others?
In this class, we'll craft a 7-10 minute solo performance / storytelling piece. The piece can be about anything you choose and should reflect your unique voice. We'll discuss the techniques of what makes a successful solo performance piece. We'll look at how writing a stage piece differs from traditional writing. We'll also discuss effective performance techniques to captivate an audience. In the end, participants will be asked to invite guests to a class performance where you'll be able to put your newly acquired skills to work. I've you've been dreaming of telling a story to a live audience, this class is for you! In addition to practice on stage, there will also be a few class discussions and partner exercises.
