Furthering Your Writing Habit Through Feedback - Feb 2022 (FULL)

NOTE: This class is now full and we are no longer accepting registrations. Sorry! Please check out our other offerings, and sign up for our newsletter to be the first to hear about newly added classes.

Important note:
This class is specifically for writers who are relatively new to examining their writing in a workshop format.

Have you started developing a writing habit and are now ready to take your writing to the next level? Then it is time to incorporate feedback and revision.

Despite what you’ve heard on the street, revision can be a blast. All it requires from you is a willingness to play, to experiment, maybe even to take a deep breath and let go of the most adored parts of your drafts. Revision is edgy, it’s exhilarating, and falling in love with it will be one of the best things that happens to your writing practice.

Through peer feedback, playful revision exercises, relevant essays on craft, and guidance from the instructor, this class will help you discover ways to see and hear your work more clearly, penetrate it more fully, find the deep-down gems and get them to come forward, shine up, and sing.

We will follow a workshop format to examine drafts you’ve already generated or that you write during the eight-week class. You will learn to provide effective feedback, see your own work more clearly, and gain a deeper trust in your voice and writer instincts. This is a multigenre workshop; both prose and poetry welcome and you will learn to give and receive cross-genre feedback.
