Interested in writing succinct and powerful prose? If so, flash fiction is for you. This one day, six hour course is designed to help you understand the fundamentals of flash fiction and to begin generating work of your own. We will explore contemporary flash fiction stories from masters of the form and complete writing exercises in class. Participants will receive constructive feedback from the instructor and one another. We will also discuss markets for flash fiction. No experience required.
Kevin Tasker is a writer from Cleveland. His flash fiction has appeared in Flash Fiction Magazine, Every Day Fiction, Vestal Review, and Scene Magazine. His food writing has appeared in TimothyMcSweeney’s Internet Tendency and Edible Cleveland. His non-fiction has appeared in Belt Magazine, including in Belt’s Pittsburgh Anthology. He was a founding member of Ohio University’s writer’s workshop, The Group. He graduated summa cum laude from University of Illinois: Springfield.
