Join Lit Cleveland for our 2nd book swap party! For every book you bring, you'll receive a raffle ticket that will allow you to exchange it for another book. This is a great chance to re-gift some books you no longer want and pick up some new-to-you summer reads. Market Garden is generously donating a dollar from every beer purchased, so drink up! Magazines in good condition welcome, too. Leftover reading material will be donated to Seeds of Literacy.
Part of our week-long Cleveland Inkubator literary arts festival. Featured readers include Lara Lillibridge, Elizabeth Culotta, and Bernard Harris.
About the featured readers:
Lara Lillibridge delights in singing off-beat and dancing off-key. Her memoir, “Girlish: Growing Up in a Lesbian Home” is slated for release November 7, 2017 with Skyhorse Publishing. She is a graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan College’s MFA program in Creative Nonfiction, and in 2016 won both Slippery Elm Literary Journal’s Prose Contest, and The American Literary Review's Contest in Nonfiction. Lara Lillibridge has had essays published in Pure Slush Vol. 11, Vandalia, and Polychrome Ink; on the web at Hippocampus Magazine, Luna Luna, Huffington Post, The Feminist Wire, Airplane Reading, Thirteen Ways to Tell a Story, Weirderary, and Brain, Child magazine's Brain, Mother blog.
By day Elizabeth Culotta is all about non-fiction, working as a journalist chronicling the latest scientific advances for Science magazine. When night comes, she transforms fact into fiction and writes stories about where that research might take us. Her specialty is anthropology, and around the clock she daydreams about what it means to be human. Her obsessions include motherhood and how people decide who gets to be the boss of whom.
Bernard Harris is an aspiring Cleveland writer who grew up in the city’s east side suburbs, but spent most weekends at his abuela’s house in the once-heavily Puerto Rican neighborhood of Ohio City/Detroit-Shoreway where he now lives. Bernard fills his free time with daydreaming about writing then promptly avoiding it at all costs. He nerds out over most subjects and holds many opinions about many topics. You will hear them all, just wait. He tweets freely at @BEPHarris.
